Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and [LEGAL NAME] (“LifeWorks”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the LifeWorks website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept them. If you use LifeWorks on behalf of an organization, you accept them for that organization too.

Who can use LifeWorks

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] years old, and old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, to use LifeWorks. Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. You may not use the Service where the law forbids it.

Your account: personal and team

When you sign up you get a personal account. It holds your pillars, goals, habits, journal and reflections, and only you can see it.

You can also create or join team accounts, shared with the people their owner or administrators invite. What you add to a team account — projects, actions, notes and the like — is visible to its members according to their roles, and the team’s administrators can add and remove members. Whoever creates a team account is responsible for the people they invite to it.

You are responsible for keeping your password and any sign-in you connect (Google or Microsoft) secure, and for what happens under your account. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us right away at [CONTACT EMAIL].

Membership and payment

LifeWorks is a paid membership, billed monthly or annually at the price shown on our pricing page when you subscribe. Payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]; we never see or store your full card number.

  • Your membership renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or annual, and is charged to your payment method until you cancel.
  • Where the law requires it, applicable taxes are added to the price.
  • If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and the new price starts with your next period. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service until it goes through.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your membership at any time from your account’s billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.

Payments are not refunded for partial periods or unused time, except where the law requires it, including any right to withdraw from a purchase made at a distance that consumer law in your country gives you.

You can also delete your user account at any time from your profile. Deleting it is permanent; the Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

Your content

Everything you put into LifeWorks — your journal and reflections, notes, pillars, goals, projects, habits, files and the rest (“Your Content”) — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it.

You give us permission to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you: to save it, show it to you and to the members of the team accounts you share it with, back it up and keep it secure. This permission ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies in backups until they expire.

Our staff do not look at your private content unless you ask us to (for example, to help with a support request), to keep the Service secure, or when the law requires it. We do not sell Your Content or use it for advertising.

You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to put it into LifeWorks. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Acceptable use

Use LifeWorks lawfully and with respect for others. In particular, you may not:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload malware, or content that is illegal, abusive or harassing, or that exploits minors;
  • try to access accounts or data that are not yours, or probe, scan or test the Service’s security without our written permission;
  • overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service, or access it by automated means other than the interfaces we offer for that, such as the API, within their limits;
  • resell, sublicense or copy the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • use team accounts or invitations to send spam.

Services from other companies

Some features rely on services run by other companies: signing in with Google or Microsoft, showing your calendar’s events, the weather, background photos and guided meditation videos. They are optional, and those companies’ own terms and privacy policies apply to them. We are not responsible for them, and a feature may stop working if its provider changes or ends its service.

Changes to the Service

LifeWorks keeps evolving: we may add, change or remove features. If we remove something essential to what you pay for, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel if you no longer want the Service. We work to keep LifeWorks available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted: maintenance, outages and events beyond our control happen.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using LifeWorks and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, that puts the Service or other people at risk, whose payments remain unpaid, or when the law requires us to. Unless the law or the urgency of the situation prevents it, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and to take a copy of your content.

If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any prepaid time you have not used.

Disclaimers

LifeWorks is a tool to help you organize your life and work. It does not give medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it is no substitute for a professional’s. Weather, calendar and other information that comes from third parties may be inaccurate or out of date.

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. This does not limit the rights consumer protection law gives you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, [LEGAL NAME] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, LifeWorks.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service or the law changes; the “last updated” date at the end says when. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies, and we may ask you to accept the new version to keep using LifeWorks. If you don’t agree with a change, you can cancel and stop using the Service.

General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we have not waived it. We may transfer these Terms to a company that takes over the Service, and we will tell you if we do; you may not transfer them without our consent.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW], without regard to their conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute we cannot resolve together will go before the courts of [COURTS], unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to go before your local courts or to have your local law apply.

Before going to court, please write to us at [CONTACT EMAIL]: most problems can be solved that way.
